In Cat Quest III, a fair number of weapons are available for players to choose from. This can make it quite difficult to decide which ones are best and which ones are worth seeking out. While much of this is dependent on personal choice, some options have very beneficial effects and can make the choice easier for your Purribean adventure. No matter what weapon you choose, you will surely have a great time exploring the seas.
Adventuring across Cat Quest III’s map, your cat Privateer will want to collect all the loot they can get their little paws on while also attempting to stop the Pi-rats from achieving their goal. This will be easier with the right gear, and particularly with the weapons. To make the most of your time, check out some of the best weapons listed below.

Cat Quest 3, Pirates of the Purribean, adds pirate ships and more humor to the epic adventure of the series while continuing its overarching story.
10 Blade of Orion
Teleporting Attacks
The Blade of Orion is a fun sword that is both powerful and makes you feel cool. It will give you the feeling that you have fantastic teleporting powers; if you attack regularly with it, the attacks will gain a teleporting strike. This might be harder to control than other weapons on this list.
You can find this weapon by visiting the Tower of Orion and finding the boss to unlock the room where the chest waits. Gain it to see if this blade works best for you.
Location | Effect |
---|---|
Complete the Tower of Orion and defeat the boss. | Regular attacks create a teleporting strike. |
The game is still quite new, and you can find most of these fairly easily as you explore the map. Don’t be afraid to do much testing yourself to see what works best for you!
9 Ice Wand
Spells or Weapons?
The Ice Wand is a weapon that allows you to take out enemies with Iceballs. This is helpful for freezing enemies and keeping them from moving. This can help you defeat movement-heavy bosses in Cat Quest III. However, one thing makes this a slightly less desirable weapon than other options.
This is mainly because you can use your Spells to do many of the same things the Ice Wand can do. You can freeze enemies and slow your enemies with an Ice Spell just as well, making this slightly less good than another weapon if you have the spell. You can see all spells and what they do in this video from 100% Guides.

Find the Ice Pi-rat Hideout in the Straits and defeat the Ice Mage boss. | Shoots Iceballs that freeze enemies. |
8 Oinker Shield
The Best Defense
Normally, a shield would not make the best weapon for your Privateering adventures in Cat Quest III. However, this shield is one of the few with an extra offensive boost that can make it worth it to wield more than just as a defensive item. It can be found in the Centari Ruins.
Once found, if you equip it, your successful blocks also create a fire blast. This is more than just an offensive boost; it is a very powerful and elemental attack. This can make a big difference in fights where you might be surrounded but probably will not be your regular weapon.
Location | Effect |
---|---|
Centari Ruins | Every Successful block creates a fire blast. |
7 Furlintlock
Early Ranged Damage
This gun can be found fairly early on, which makes it a good starting weapon, especially for ranged damage. What makes it better than other options is that it will fire a super-shot with the last bit of ammo in the clip, much like how some of the guns work in the Borderlands franchise. This can make it easier to deal with the finishing blow to enemies, with the downside that that last shot is much harder to control.
You do not really want to walk around saving that last clip, so you might waste it on some lower-level enemies or miss the shot. That makes its ability a lot less consistent, so do not be afraid to swap it out for a better gun later.

6 Tsurai
Combo King
This weapon is an excellent way to create a lot of combos that are imbued with fire damage. This is an excellent sword with some unique moves, but it is less helpful than others due to the lateness in the game in which you will encounter this weapon. You will find it after facing Takomeowki, and as he is guarding the door to the North Star Treasure, you will find it just before ending the game.
This makes it a little less useful for your first playthrough, but you can restart Cat Quest III in a new game+ mode that will allow you to make use of this weapon and spread your fiery combos across the Purribean.
Location | Effect |
---|---|
Go to Sunset Isles and defeat Takomeowki. | Performs a unique fiery combo worthy of the spiciest of squids. |
5 Arcane Wand
Spooky Spectres
You will earn this wand weapon after facing the Necromancer, who is located in the spooky area of Twin Castle, filled with a dark, purple magic aesthetic. You will gain this aesthetic yourself upon getting the Arcane Wand, which will shoot out your own spectres that will home in on enemies.
Again, there are other options to achieve some of the same effects, but what makes this better than the Ice Wand is that you are creating a homing attack with a much lower chance of missing. This gives it that much of an edge and puts it a little higher on the list. However, it is not as strong of a weapon as the others.

Twin Castle East and defeat the Necromouser. | Shoots spectres that home in on enemies! |
There is a lot of crossover between the effects of weapons, armor, and spells. So, if you still want this effect, check out some of the armor and spells. You can also get around this region to see if you can still use your favorite weapon and make spooky friends. You can check out the other items found in this region in this video by Game Guides Channel, starting around the 34-minute mark.
4 Tri-Claws
Swipity Swipe
For those who want a close-range melee weapon that can take apart enemies fast and hard, you will want to check out the Tri-Claws. Various forms of these can be found throughout the adventure, but the Tri-Claws are the best version of these Wolverine-like weapons. This transforms your tiny paws into even deadlier murder mittens, making you a furry ball of terror.
These can also be found in Twin Castles, but they can also be found as a random drop, meaning you could stumble across them anytime. Take advantage of that if you happen to find them earlier. They get an extra triple slash at the end of your attack, doing that much more damage to your enemies.
Location | Effect |
---|---|
Random/Twin Castles. | Performs a triple slash on the final strike. |
3 Bloodsucker
Taking Health
The Bloodsucker is a weapon you must complete Eight Bit Castle to get. However, once acquired, you can take part of the damage dealt with the blade back as health. This allows you to get up close and personal with enemies without being worried about losing too much health. Every strike will gain your health back, and it is unlikely you will lose too much overall.
To see exactly how to get this weapon, check out 100% Guide's video on getting through Eight Bit Castle. It will let you storm through enemies without much trouble.

Best RPGs Of 2024 (So Far)
2024 isn't even halfway over and the industry keeps churning out game of the year contenders. Here's the best RPGs of 2024 so far.
2 Meowchine Gun
Fast Firing Range
This gun does not really have a special ability, but you can equip trinkets or use spells to supplement this without feeling a lack. This is because this is just a workhorse when you need it to be. The Meowchine Gun does a little less damage, but it does it extremely fast and with a large ammo clip, so you can keep firing for a while.
While it may appear to be nothing special on the surface, its early availability and ease of use can make it fun and easy to use, and you can keep using it as you progress throughout the game. It is also more reliable than the earlier mentioned Furlintlock.
Getting this gun can be an early challenge, as the boss you have to defeat has a swarm mechanic, which can be dangerous this early in the game. Make sure you bring a weapon that can handle a small horde.
Location | Effect |
---|---|
Ruined Castle and defeat the Pi-rat Boss. | Large ammo clip and fast firing! |
1 The Rocker
Heavy Metal Damage
After beating the fearsome and heavy metal rockin’ Meowtallica, you will find yourself getting a heap of loot from the battle. One of these is The Rocker, which is a heavily Norse-inspired Axe with a rockstar aesthetic. It is not only super cool-looking, but you can get it about halfway through the story, and has a very consistent ability.
The ability is that the weapon shoots a lightning bolt every time you swing your sword. This can make you feel like a cat-sized Thor as you axe your way through enemies with lightning flaring around you and doing a fair amount of damage. And you should be able to make your way to the end of the Purribean adventure in Cat Quest III.
Location | Effect |

Go to Meowtallica's concert and defeat The Rocker. | Shoots a lightning bolt with every swing! |
