I had my 16w US today.
up until now, baby was always jumping around (so far, all US took place mid afternoon)
today, the appointment was early morning, and despite seeing some movement of the legs and arms (and cofs lol), she was much quieter compared to her US at 8w and 12 w.
Heartbeat was there and normal, doctor did not seem concerned and told us she is growing as expected (even on the bigger side)
is it normal or expected for the movements on US to differ depending on the week/time?

my understanding is that the baby sometimes is awake and sometimes is resting at different times throughout the day. so perhaps the early morning time was just a more restful moment for them. I would follow the dr's lead if they didn't seem concerned!

I was also paranoid like this because one day he did not love at ALLL at the ultrasound , HR was fine but he was soooo still!! It freaked me out and they reassured me everything’s fine, but started feeling kicks this week so puts my mind at ease, i know its difficult when u dont feel movement either

@ireallymisssushi,
cannot wait for the kicks to try to relax a bit.... the anxiety has been a pain so far

I always eat something similar before my appointments like eggs with a big orange juice so I can compare baby’s movements. I can definitely tell what I eat before affects the movements

Baby is getting into a routine now. She could have been asleep. Mine is up alllllll night and little to no movement during the day. Baby #4 doesn’t move much after I eat/drink anything. But when I was pregnant with baby #2 apple juice made him move a lot.

Honestly the only movement we have seen on ultrasound since about 12/13wks is her legs and arms stretching out. She did at my 17wk appointment have her hands right up against her face asleep
